Pat Healy, who would fight Jamie Varner at UFC on Fox 9, spent a few hours without knowing the identity of his opponent. After his rival withdrew due to an injury, the event escalated Bobby Green for the lightweight clash, which takes place on December 14th.
Green, 27 years old, is undefeated after two Octagon appearances. His last fight was last week, on November 6, at UFC Fight Night 31. On that occasion, he beat James Krause by technical knockout in the first round, through a kick that caused controversy. While Krause argued that it was a low blow, referee John McCarthy ruled that the move was legal.
Healy also has two fights at the event, but has yet to get his first win. He hit Jim Miller impressively at UFC 159 in April, but had his victory withdrawn after being caught doping. In September, “Bam Bam” was beaten by Khabib Nurmagomedov in the judges' decision.
The event will be held in Sacramento, California (United States), and will feature a rematch between Demetrious Johnson e Joseph Benavidez for the flyweight belt as the main fight.
