MAIN HIGHLIGHTS OF UFC LONG ISLAND

This Saturday's event's main fight is the duel between featherweights Brian Ortega and Yair Rodriguez and features two Brazilians on the card.

The first Brazilian in action, Burns returns to the octagon after almost two years away. Gilbert Durinho's younger brother has five wins in his last six fights, but is coming off a defeat to Daniel Pineda in 2020.

Herbert Burns' opponent will be 'Senor Perfecto', an American who is coming off a victory over Joanderson Tubarão in January.

Bill Algeo   (15-6)

Another highlight of the preliminary card is Jack Shore. The Welsh sensation is undefeated in his career, has five wins in the UFC and is ranked fourteenth in the bantamweight rankings.

The mission to end Shore's unbeaten run is with Ricky Simon, thirteenth in the rankings. The North American has won four in a row; the last one about Raphael Assunção.

The opening of the main card marks Miesha Tate's flyweight debut. At 35, the former bantamweight champion has one win and one loss since returning from retirement in 2021.

Tate's opponent will be fellow veteran Lauren Murphy. Third in the rankings, 'Lucky' is coming off a title fight defeat against Valentina Shevchenko, but has won her five previous fights.

Lauren Murphy        (15-5)

Eleventh placed in the straws, Amandinha comes from a defeat to Jéssica Bate-Estaca in April after scoring five consecutive victories in the division.

Amanda lemos        (11-2-1)

Tenth placed in the ranking, 'Karate Hottie' is not going through a great phase in the organization. There are three defeats in the last four fights; the last of them against Marina Rodriguez, in 2021.

Michelle Waterson           (18-9)

With seven wins and just two losses in the UFC, the second-ranked featherweight returns to the Octagon after a title fight defeat against Alexander Volkanovski, in September 2021.

Brian ortega       (15-2)

Ortega's opponent will be the Mexican, third in the rankings and who comes from a defeat in a five-round 'war' against Max Holloway, in November last year.
