Pitbull Brother athlete, Ilara Joanne beats Colombian on points at Bellator 282

Pitbull Brother representative, Ilara Joanne was responsible for Brazil's first victory at Bellator 282, which took place this Friday (24). With sharp striking, the Brazilian athlete beat the Colombian by points in a unanimous decision by the judges. The show took place at the Mohegan Sun Arena, in Uncasville, Connecticut (USA).

The Brazilian athlete recovered from two consecutive defeats and returned to 'breathing' in the organization. The fighter from Ceará now has 10 triumphs and six setbacks in the sport. Her rival Alejandra Lara, now has a record of nine negative results and six positive results.

THE FIGHT

In the first few seconds, Lara moved to the clinch, looking to take down the Brazilian and after just over two minutes in the position, she fell on top of the Brazilian athlete. The Colombian soon moved to the back, eyeing a choke. Joanne just defended herself in the first few minutes. Lara got into the mount and started hitting the Brazilian with 'shoulders' and punches to the face. Joanne got up in the final seconds and started striking. The Brazilian landed a heavy sequence of blows that shook the Colombian and almost gave the Brazilian athlete a knockout.

Joanne returned for the second round willing to keep the fight standing and managed to land good combinations on her rival, who shook again. The Brazilian tried to take the fight to the clinch, but gave up and returned to the fight on the feet. Ilara tried to land a high kick, but left space in her guard and received a hard counterattack cross. Joanne tried to close the distance to find the clinch but Lara took down, took down the Brazilian and fell on top in mount. The Colombian started to punish her rival with ground and pound and used her strength to maintain the position. Joanne applied an illegal blow to the Brazilian and the referee took away a point from the Brazilian's rival.

In the third round, Joanne looked for a takedown and started trying to take the Brazilian's back, who was just trying to survive in the face of the Colombian's transitions. Alejandra began to control the fight from above in the final minute, being more passive until the bell sounded.
