Dana White is really furious with Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares. The UFC president, famous for not mincing words when commenting on situations occurring in the organization, was harsh when talking about the Brazilian's submission over Mike Pierce on October 9th in Barueri (SP), which resulted in the fighter's dismissal. White went so far as to classify as “despicable” the fact that Toquinho held on to the heel hook that gave him victory in the fight for too long.
“He knew what he was doing that night. Apparently there was some conversation where Mike Pierce said some bad things and everything. But there is no place for that in this sport. You don't hold a leg lock for too long while the guy is hitting and you know he's hitting. Especially because Palhares is recognized for that (being one of the best in the world at leg locks). What he did was wrong and truly despicable,” the manager said on the “FOX Sports Live” program.
At UFC Fight Night 29, on October 9th, in Barueri (SP), Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares beat Mike Pierce with a lightning-fast submission. The Brazilian, however, went too far in holding on to the submission even after his rival's withdrawal and the referee's intervention, which resulted in his dismissal by Ultimate. Since then, Toquinho has divided opinions in the world of MMA and has been the subject of public demonstrations by several names linked to the sport.
