The controversial dismissal of Rousimar Toquinho of the UFC gained another chapter this weekend. After the fighter released a video in which he guarantees that there was no malice By holding back a blow to Mike Pierce at UFC Fight Night 29, the Minas Gerais athlete's former coach, Murilo Bustamante, added more spice to the story.
The leader of Brazilian Top Team, Toquinho's former team, stated that the fighter has already injured several BTT training companions. Bustamante said that he had already defended Rousimar on several occasions, but changed his opinion about the athlete's behavior.

“No one defended Toquinho more than me every time he made a mistake like the one we saw in Barueri. I thought he did that because he was naive, or because he was very nervous when he fought. But he caused many incidents within my gym, and I changed my mind. I got tired of seeing Toquinho injure training companions when sparring, especially when he was close to a fight”, said Murilo, in an interview with the English magazine Fighters Only.

Bustamante revealed that he hired a psychologist to help Toquinho, but to no avail. “There was always a justification, which was accompanied by a meaningless excuse, for every fight he lost. That's when our relationship started to deteriorate. I even hired a psychologist to help me deal with him. But as we’ve seen, it appears not,” he concluded.

I don't know man, Bustamante has always been a very honest, thoughtful person. I don't think he would ever take advantage of the situation to take advantage, after all he doesn't need that. He just didn't say it before because I don't think anyone would believe him.
The thing was that Toquinho sold an image to Brazil of a suffering, hard-working guy, who got emotional easily, and with that, he gained fans. It is a natural tendency for human beings to root for people who have had a remarkable life story or something similar to ours.
Masss… the truth is something that always appears, we were deceived. Toquinho turned out to be a truly bad character.
