Without a UFC contract after his loss to Tim Kennedy at UFC 162, Roger gracie did not have his contract renewed by the main organization on the planet and is currently negotiating his return to the cage at another event. In an interview with the “MMA Fighting” website, the Brazilian revealed that he should no longer play in the middleweight division, returning to the light heavyweight division, and that his return to MMA should only happen next year.

“I haven't signed with anyone yet. I'm busy with my gym, family and seminars, so I believe nothing will happen before the end of the year”, said Roger, who also stated that his manager is already negotiating with some organizations, but without revealing which ones. “I don’t think I’ll go down to middleweight in November. It's a tough weight cut for me and it's hurting my performance. My weight category is 93 kilos”, he concluded.

The world jiu-jitsu champion Roger gracie, 32 years old, has a record of six wins and two losses. Gracie spent most of his career with Strikeforce and was added to the Ultimate squad after the organization's dissolution. In his UFC debut, with a below-average performance, Roger was defeated by Tim Kennedy in July and ended up being released shortly afterwards.
