PFL heavyweight champion (up to 120,2kg) in the 2021 season, Bruno Cappelozza showed on Thursday night (28) that he is a serious candidate for a second championship in the tournament. In the second event of the year, against the British Stuart Austin, the Brazilian took no notice of his rival and managed to get a knockout in the first round. The show took place at the Esports Stadium, in Arlington, Texas (USA).

Trying to make the 'zebra' walk around the ring, Stuart grabbed the champion and tried to get the clinch, but it didn't last long. The two athletes exchanged blows in the center of the cage and the Brazilian even hit (and shook) his rival. In the final stretch of the first round, Bruno connected with a heavy right blow that led to the Briton's knockdown. Bruno immediately made the transition, went to the mount and punished his opponents with a 'rain of punches' until the central referee interrupted.
Going through the best phase of his career, Bruno has not yet been defeated since being hired by the PFL in 2021. Since then, he has won five victories and a heavyweight belt. The fighter from São Paulo has an MMA record of 15 triumphs and five setbacks.
