“I believe it's a balanced fight, because I shared the Octagon with both of them. Jones has more resources than Miocic, but Miocic has his 'crazy weapons' in his own right. For a big guy, he's very versatile and what makes this more interesting is that Jones will be a light heavyweight moving up the division,” said Cormier, on his show on 'ESPN'.

Keeping an eye on Jones' new phase in MMA, Cormier is curious about how his biggest career rival will fare in the dangerous category led by Francis Ngannou. The athlete then evaluated the physique of potential opponents.

“Stipe is a legitimate heavyweight. Jones is bigger, because if you look at him now, he's huge. Miocic has been lean for a while now. There are many differences. Did Stipe get bigger? Will you go lighter? Jon Jones Will you lose weight when the time comes for the fight?”, asked DC.

Finally, Cormier evaluated the scenario of the division up to 120,2kg. for Jon. The former fighter understands that, if the fight is confirmed, Miocic will be the 'best opponent' possible for 'Bones'.

“It is very risky to leave Jon Jones face anyone else at heavyweight. What if he loses? It’s a very high possibility”, he concluded.

Considered by many to be the best fighter of all time, Jones has not performed since his victory against Dominick reyes, in February 2020. After his last defense of the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg), the athlete gave up his belt and began the process of gaining muscle mass for his debut in the up to 120,2kg category.

Heavyweight legend, Stipe Miocic hasn't stepped into the Octagon in just over a year. In his last fight, the veteran ended up brutally knocked out by Francis Ngannou and lost the division title.
