Confirmed as an opponent of Chris Cyborg after hard-fought victory in Bellator 275, held this Saturday (25), Sinead Kavanagh won the place in the race. During the fight against Leah McCourt, the featherweight (up to 65,7kg) had tense moments when she acted for around 10 minutes with an obvious injury to her left knee. In the images released by ‘SHOWTIME SPORTS’ it is possible to notice part of the Irish woman’s drama.

The confrontation against McCourt started with a disadvantage for Sinead. Victim of her opponent's falls, the Irishwoman needed to put her experience into practice to overcome the adversity. Still in the first round, Kavanagh managed to reverse the situation and would have submitted her rival, if it weren't for Leah's high resistance in not giving up with a locked Kimura.

Kavanagh's nightmare, however, would begin in the second stage. Better in the match, the Irishwoman ended up suffering a knee injury, which hampered her movement around the cage.

More than once, the former title challenger lost her balance and fell. The fighter then needed to show courage and impose her pace to overcome her opponent.

Supported by the team as they left the cage, after the official announcement, the Bellator broadcast confirmed that the Irishwoman had qualified for a new clash against Chris Cyborg, by whom she was badly beaten at the end of last season.
