UFC on FOX 8: First Brazilian in the Octagon is defeated by knockout

I didn't give it Jessica Andrade. The first Brazilian to fight in Ultimate, she tried, but was unable to overcome the favorite Liz Carmouche and was defeated by technical knockout in the second round. The fight marked the opening of the main card of UFC on FOX 8, an event held in Seattle, in the United States.

The fight

Unlike expected, Carmouche did not rely on striking against the Brazilian. In the first moves, the American closed the distance, sought the clinch and took the fight to the ground. After managing to take down Jéssica, she worked with some blows on top, but the Brazilian managed to get up.

Back in the stand-up fight, it was the Brazilian's turn to put her rival on her back, but Liz avoided the “Bate-Estaca” blows, as the Tupiniquim athlete is known, and reversed the position. At this moment, Jéssica had her best moment in the fight. She landed a tight guillotine, pressing the blow for more than a minute, but the American resisted bravely until the end of the partial.

After the scare at the end of the first round, Liz Carmouche came with everything in the second round. The North American soon went for the takedown, took down and came to mount. From above, she hit Jéssica with several blows until she reached her back. The Brazilian still managed to defend a rear naked choke, but gave way to mount and was hit by several blows until the referee stopped the fight and declared a technical knockout.

The result marked the third defeat in Jéssica's career, who has nine wins, while Liz Carmouche's triumph also reached a record of nine wins and three defeats.
