The discussion to define who is the best fighter in the history of MMA always generates great debates, with countless different ideas and criteria on the subject and, in the case of telecatch star CM Punk, it is no different. In an interview with the channel 'Helen Lee Sports' on YouTube, the American stated that he considers ex-PRIDE Kazushi Sakuraba to be an advantage.

“I have a space in my heart for Sakuraba. A lot of people probably wouldn't pick Sakuraba, but I'm a professional fighter at heart and I know he is too. So he's one of those guys that kind of captures everything I love about mixed martial arts. Underdog face and ugly ears. What’s not to love?”, analyzed Punk.

Sakuraba, 52 years old, made history in PRIDE, being recognized as one of the most emblematic local fighters for his feats in submitting athletes from the 'Gracie Family' in the Japanese organization. The Japanese beat Renzo, Royler and Ryan Gracie, in addition to taking away his unbeaten record Royce gracie, who at the time had three titles in the first four UFC tournaments, including a legendary victory in the first event organized by Ultimate, in 1993.

A big name in telecatch, CM Punk ventured into the UFC in 2016, but was unsuccessful in MMA. He left with just two fights played, both in defeats to Mickey gall and Mike Jackson. The athlete returned to pro-wrestling and currently competes for 'AEW' (All Elite Wrestling).
