About eight months after being released from the UFC, Junior Gypsy has a new home to fight for. According to the website “TMZ Sports”, the former heavyweight champion (up to 120,2 kg) of Ultimate signed a contract with Triller and will debut in early 2022, probably in February, against Kubrat Pulev at Triad Combat, an event which pits MMA fighters against boxing fighters in mixed rules.

Junior Gypsy He was fired from the UFC in March after suffering four consecutive defeats. Since then, the Brazilian has shown signs that he would venture into professional boxing, but was led by agent Ali Abdelaziz to sign with Triller.
Cigano's last fight took place in December 2020, when he was knocked out by the current interim champion Cyryl Gane. The Brazilian, who was UFC champion between 2011 and 2012, has not won a fight since March 2019, when he knocked out Derrick Lewis.
The Brazilian's opponent in Triad Combat, Kubrat Pulev comes from a victory over former UFC champion Frank Mir, in the first edition of the event, in November. The Bulgarian has a record of 28 wins and just two losses in professional boxing and is a former international champion of the International Boxing Federation, former European champion and former intercontinental champion of the World Boxing Association.
In his last fight in professional boxing, Kubrat Pulev ended up being knocked out by Anthony Joshua in the dispute for the World Boxing Association, International Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organization and International Boxing Organization world belts. Pulev's other defeat came at the hands of Wladimir Klitscho.
