After debuting with a defeat in Ultimate in April, Ryan Couture, son of hall of famer Randy Couture, got a quick chance to recover in the organization. Last Tuesday (2), it was confirmed that Ryan will face Quinn Mulhern at UFC 164, on August 31st.
Ryan Couture has a relatively short career in MMA. The 30-year-old athlete has a record of six wins and two losses. Before having his only fight for the UFC, Ryan spent his entire career with Strikeforce. The lightweight was one of several athletes incorporated by Ultimate after the acquisition of the extinct organization.
Quinn Mulhern, former King of the Cage champion, has a vast career. The 28-year-old athlete has a record of 18 wins and just three losses. The fighter also transferred to the UFC after the absorption of Strikeforce. For the fight against Couture, Mulhern, who made his career in the welterweight division (up to 77 kg), will move down to the up to 70 kg category.
UFC 164 takes place on August 31st, at the Bradley Center, in Milwaukee (USA). The main fight of the night is for the UFC lightweight belt and pits champion Benson Henderson and challenger TJ Grant face to face.
