Semi-finalist of the second edition of TUF Brasil, Viscardi Andrade came close to competing in the final of the UFC reality show in Fortaleza, last Saturday (08). Even so, the São Paulo fighter was in the capital of Ceará, where he followed Fabricio Werdum, your coach in the house, defeat Rodrigo Minotauro in the main fight. The athlete was constantly harassed by fans, who asked for photos and autographs.
“It’s great to receive all this love from the fans. They are awesome”, celebrates Viscardi. “This national recognition is a first in my career and TUF changed my life. Everywhere I go fans stop me to talk about the show. I'm sure I gave a good image to the public”, says the fighter.
Viscardi Andrade was eliminated in the semi-finals of TUF Brasil 2 due to William Patolino, who in turn ended up defeated by Leo Santos at the very end. However, Viscardi suffered an injury to his right hand that prevented him from performing 100% against Patolino. Due to his outstanding performances – two victories over Thiago Jambo and one over David Vieira -, firm stance and confidence, Viscardi was the first athlete from the program to sign a contract with the UFC. On August 3rd, he will face Bristol Marunde, in Rio de Janeiro.
“I’m studying my opponent well. I already saw his fight against Jacaré and started setting up my camp. I'm 100% recovered from my hand injury, already training hard and preparing to repay the UFC's trust. I received a lot of praise from employees of the organization and I was very happy with their immediate confidence in me, that they put me in to fight quickly, even against an American and not against a Brazilian”, he highlights.
With 13 wins and 5 losses in his record, Viscardi is very confident for the clash and guarantees not to disappoint. “I will do my best. I'm living this fight. The UFC gave me this opportunity and I will embrace it. I'm very confident for this fight” concludes the fighter.
His opponent, Bristol Marunde has 12 wins and 8 losses on his record. In his last fight, the American was knocked out by Clint Hester in April. Before that, it was finished by the Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare at Strikeforce.

Fight hard! There's everything to rock in the UFC!
I loved Tuf Brasil 2, it's a shame it's over. Now we have to wait for UFC Rio to see the athletes fight. Congratulations to Viscardi Andrade for the achievement, I was rooting for you and Pedro, unfortunately Pedro didn't make it to the final, but for Viscardi Andrade, certainly, the biggest victory was the possibility of entering the biggest MMA event on the planet.
