Dustin Poirier points to Daniel Cormier as the ideal replacement for Dana White in the future

The lightweight stated that the former two-division champion would be a good face at the helm of Ultimate if Dana White steps down

Dana White and UFC are practically synonymous. President of Ultimate for almost 20 years, Dana has become the main face of the organization in recent decades and it is difficult to imagine a different name in the position. According to light weight (up to 70,3 kg), Dustin poirier, however, a former champion could serve as Dana's successor in the future.

In an interview with entrepreneur Patrick Bet-David, Dustin poirier pointed out the former light heavyweight (up to 93 kg) and heavyweight (up to 120,2 kg) champion Daniel Cormier as a good name to replace Dana White as UFC president.

“It’s a difficult position to fill. I am not sure. Daniel Cormier, perhaps? Maybe someone who has been in combat sports. I don’t know if he knows much about the business side, but I think he would be a great face for the organization,” Poirier responded.

In the final stretch of the career, Daniel Cormier He began to divide himself between fighter and UFC commentator, until he definitively hung up his gloves after his second defeat against Stipe Miocic for the heavyweight belt, in August 2020. Today, the former champion works as an Ultimate analyst and commentator.
