Like it or not, Conor McGregor will go down in MMA history as the highest paid athlete of all time. With numbers difficult to beat, 'Notório' released the values in pay per view achieved after the UFC 257, which, in January, promoted a rematch between the Irishman and Dustin poirier. According to the former double Ultimate champion, the result exceeded expectations.

According to Conor's post, made on his profile on Twitter, the data points to a projection of 1,5 million packages to be sold. The final quota, however, admitted a profit, with 1,504 million, exceeding expectations by approximately 4 thousand.
If the document released by McGregor is correct, the UFC 257 goes down in the organization's history as one of the five highest-rated shows ever promoted by the company. The show, however, still lags behind 'Conor x Khabib Nurmagomedov', in 2018, which surpassed the mark of 2 million packages sold and is the great milestone of mixed martial arts. O UFC 264 (trilogy with Dustin) and UFC 202 (Nate diaz x McGregor II), according to the Tapology, are also ahead of the January 2021 show, but, on all cards, the Irishman's name is present.
While celebrating his popularity in mixed martial arts, the 'Notorious' takes the opportunity to recover from the serious injury in the trilogy against Poirier, in July. At the time, the company's former champion ended up losing by knockout and left the octagon with a broken ankle.
Out of action, the expectation is that the finance phenomenon will return to the octagon in 2022. It is not yet known when the athlete will return or who will be responsible for welcoming the Irishman.
