Duel between Rashad Evans and Dan Henderson is the new main fight of UFC 161

Fight will take the place left by Renan Barão vs Eddie Wineland

On Tuesday afternoon, Ultimate, through president Dana White, announced that Renan Barao he tore a ligament in his foot and will not be able to fight at UFC 161. The director was unable to specify what would happen with the main fight of the event, but the doubt was short-lived.

A few hours later, the organization announced that the fight between the light heavyweights Rashad evans e Dan Henderson will take over as the main fight of UFC 161. The co-main fight will be a rematch between Mauricio Shogun e Rogério Minotouro.

Rashad and Hendo suffered defeats in their last appearances. The first, who had been defeated by Jon Jones at UFC 145, he fell to Minotouro at UFC 156, losing two fights in a row for the first time in his career. The veteran multi-champion saw a series of four victories come to an end when he was surpassed by Lyoto Machida, in the historic UFC 157 of the organization's debut of women's MMA.
