On the eve of facing Edson Barboza No. UFC Las Vegas 35, Giga Chikadze He talked about his expectations for next Saturday's fight (28). In an interview with the website 'B.J. Penn', the Georgian fighter praised the Brazilian's strengths, but promised to win the match spectacularly.

“He has really good calf kicks and spinning kicks, but, I know how to do that too and I can counter them. My jab is also very good and I just see a lot of openings where I can catch it. I'll be able to change positions and find those openings. I just go there to be myself, do my thing and be explosive when I need to be. I will win this fight in a spectacular way,” said Chikadze.
Exuding confidence for the duel against Barboza, Giga stated that, after beating him, he hopes to be the reserve fighter in the duel valid for the featherweight belt (up to 65,7kg) between Alexander Volkanovsky e Brian ortega. The confrontation between the two athletes is scheduled for September 25th.
“I want a title shot. I will be the reserve fighter for the title fight between Volkanovski and Ortega at UFC 266. After I finish this fight, I think I will be the reserve fighter for the title fight in September. Holloway and Rodriguez are booked for November, so it makes sense for me to be the reserve fighter,” concluded the Georgia fighter.
Hired by Ultimate in 2019, Giga still doesn't know what defeat means in the organization. 'Ninja' has won all six fights for the company so far and has a record of 13 triumphs and two setbacks. The 32-year-old athlete occupies tenth place in the featherweight rankings.
