On the 16th of October, Holly holm faces the Brazilian Norm Dumont at an event to be held at the UFC Apex, in Las Vegas (USA). Second in the bantamweight division (up to 61,2 kg), the North American will face the Brazilian in the featherweight category (up to 65,7). That's because no one wants to face Holm at his original weight. Or at least that's what his coach says.

In an interview with the Submission Radio program, trainer Mike Wiklejohn stated that Holm needed to move up to featherweight to find an opponent who would accept to face her.

“Honestly, no one wants to face Holly. We had to move up to featherweight for this fight against Norm Dumont, because no one else wants to face her. I can give you the list. De Randami's number one ranking, she said she wouldn't face Holly holm no way. We've already defeated Raquel (Pennington) a few times. We have already defeated Aldana. Aldana just defeated It's Kunitskaya. So none of these make sense. Miesha Tate I said no now. So everyone talks a lot, but honestly, behind the scenes, no one wants to face Holly. So let's accept the fight we have, because Holly wants to fight for the title. That's all she wants. She has never turned down a fight in her life and wants a chance at the belt”, revealed the trainer.

Winklejohn also talked about a possible rematch against Miesha Tate in the future. The coach wasn't very interested in this idea.

“I don’t think so. Maybe if no one else wants to face Holly and she wants one more fight to qualify herself to face Amanda nunes, could it be. Holly would definitely say 'ok, I'll go beat her, no problem', because Holly doesn't turn down fights. But I don't really see that happening, I don't see a reason for that. It's going backwards, it doesn't make sense. Holly was impressive when she defeated Irene aldana. That's the problem. Now people think 'oh, now she can beat me in grappling as well as standing up?'. It’s getting scary and people can see that,” Winklejohn said.

Holly holm e Miesha Tate they faced each other at UFC 196, in 2016. After dominating most of the fight, Holm ended up submitted by Tate in the fifth round and losing the belt. Since then, Holm has entered the Octagon on eight occasions, with four wins and four losses. Currently, the former champion is coming off two consecutive victories over Irene aldana e Rachel Pennington.
