Aldo and Munhoz take on UFC 265 co-main fight after Amanda Nunes tests positive for Covid-19

The two Brazilians face each other seeking to achieve consecutive victories in the Ultimate bantamweight division

Last Thursday (29), the card of UFC 265 suffered a huge loss. The event, which takes place on August 7th, lost the co-main fight between Amanda nunes e Julianna Pena after the Brazilian tested positive for Covid-19. The duel was valid for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2 kg).

Without the fight for the title, it will be up to two Brazilians in the second most important duel of the night. The fight between José Aldo e Peter Munhoz, also valid for bantamweight, was promoted to the position of co-main event.

Former dominant featherweight champion (up to 65,7 kg), José Aldo seeks second consecutive victory in the bantamweight division. The Nova União athlete recovered from a bad sequence of three negative results by defeating the Ecuadorian Marlon Vera by unanimous decision in December 2020. Aldo occupies fifth place in the category ranking.

Just like Aldo, Peter Munhoz is also looking for a second consecutive victory. The ninth place in the ranking of bantamweights comes from a triumph against Jimmie rivera in February this year. Before that, the American Top Team fighter had lost in a row to Frankie Edgar and the current champion aljamain sterling.
