“I want to be the fighter of the year, I want to win the 'ESPY' (award from the American ESPN), I want to have five stars in the video game. I want it all. I want to be the unquestionable greatest bantamweight that has ever appeared in this sport, I want people to imagine me when they think of MMA”, declared Sandhagen in an interview with 'ESPN'.

Signed by Ultimate in 2018, Sandhagen impressed with his unorthodox fighting style. The American racked up five consecutive victories in his first fights and was soon paired with another great promise in the division, aljamain sterling. The defeat by submission in June last year briefly put the brakes on the 'Sandman's' goals.

After suffering his first setback in the organization, Cory returned in style with two spectacular knockout victories against Marlon moraes e Frankie Edgar, respectively. Current number two in the bantamweight rankings, Sandhagen has a record of 14 positive results and two negative results.
