Despite ending his planned contract with Ultimate, Demian Maia You shouldn't retire yet. The Brazilian, who lost to Belal Muhammad | No. UFC 263 last Saturday (12), expressed his desire to have another fight in his career and, respectfully, called Nate diaz for his farewell to the octagon.

Regardless of last night, I know I still have a fight to go, and it's no secret that I feel like the UFC is my home, where I want to finish my career. Now, I have no idea if they will give me another fight, but if they do, I would be honored to have my last MMA fight with you, someone who always comes to fight, who represents Jiu-Jitsu and who I respect. (…), if I have one more, I don't want to waste it on someone I don't respect. So if you want it, and the UFC wants it, it will happen and it will be my last dance. Much respect”, wrote Maia in her ‘Instagram' official.
Amid speculation about retirement, Demian Maia was frustrated in attempts to take down in front of Belal Muhammad | and was overcome in the unanimous decision of the judges. However, the veteran is willing to 'forget' the past and says he is eager to fight again.
“I tried really hard and unfortunately I wasn’t able to perform at my best. As frustrated as I am, I kept trying until the end and that is in the past now. I’m already looking forward to it because I know time passes quickly and I won’t be doing this for much longer,” she said.
At 43 years old, Maia has a record of 39 wins and 11 losses in his career. In his career, he challenged for the belt on two occasions, but never became Ultimate champion.
