After being away from the octagon for about a year and a half, Nate diaz he almost led one of the biggest upsets in the history of Ultimate. In the fight against Leon edwards, valid by UFC 263 last Saturday (12), the ‘Bad Boy’ was dominated during four rounds, but narrowly missed knocking out the Englishman in the last seconds of the duel. For him, he lacked 'motivation', which he would have lost after problems during his training period for the fight.

“I had a break in training, so we had to postpone the fight for a month. I kind of lost all motivation to train and work hard. So, it took me a month to prepare for a war. In the end, I feel as if he really won, but I feel like a better fighter, because the peak of the fight is what matters in the end,” said Diaz in a post-conference press conference.UFC 263.
Asked about his future in Ultimate, Nate says he isn't thinking about a special name, but he wants to return to the Octagon as soon as possible. He still regrets the loss to Edwards, but says he only looks to the future.
“I want to fight in three or four months. I'm ready to get back out there, but I just need to heal from the cuts (from the fight). If I came out unscathed, I would be back next week. (…), I can't hate Leon (Edwards), congratulations on the victory. I wish things had gone my way, but that’s okay”, concluded the ‘Bad Boy'.
Popular with North American fans, Nate diaz He left the gymnasium in Phoenix (USA), where the event took place, to an ovation, despite defeat. The North American now has a record of 20 triumphs and 13 setbacks in his career.
