The novel between Paulo borrachinha and UFC seems to be far from over. After publicly complaining about the salaries offered by the company and being harshly rebutted by Dana White, the miner vented again. On his social networks, the Brazilian once again expressed his regret with the organization and assured not to present himself until the parties reach a common denominator regarding the scholarships.

“A lot of amazing people and absolute MMA fans have come up to me, in various places, and said, 'We hope to see you fighting soon. When will you fly back?'. I really feel bad for them. Sorry guys”, wrote the athlete, in his account on Instagram.
Dissatisfied with the amounts offered by Ultimate, Borrachinha criticized the fact that, according to him, he received less than lower ranked athletes in the company. The Brazilian then guaranteed that he will not return to action until there is no agreement with the UFC.
“Unfortunately, I'm not going to do big shows to get the same pay as unranked fighters. Does not make sense. Just to let you guys know why I didn't show up. I'm still training and sharp, while the money isn't worth the show”, he concluded.
Current number two at middleweight, Paulo has not performed since the defeat he suffered against Israel adesanya, in September 2020, in the dispute for the group's belt. On that occasion, the Brazilian ended up being knocked out by his opponent and suffered his first defeat as a professional in MMA.
Last weekend, Borrachinha's name was highlighted in the world of MMA when he denied having signed any contract to face Jared Cannonier, in an event that takes place on August 21st. Alleging disagreement regarding the salary received for the confrontation, the athlete ended up giving way to Kelvin Gastelum, who accepted the clash.
Paulo's statement sounded bad to Dana White, who had already confirmed the confrontation. After the incident, the president of Ultimate harshly criticized the former title challenger.
