Despite showing a lot of respect for José Aldo, Peter Munhoz Do you already think about what will happen in the future if you beat your compatriot in the UFC 265. The fighter from São Paulo praised his opponent's history in mixed martial arts but believes he could be able to compete for the bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg) if he emerges victorious in the confrontation on August 7th.

“It will be a huge fight. I never create much expectation in my fights, I like to focus on doing my best. But I believe a stunning victory over José Aldo will definitely give me great credibility to get a title shot”, said Munhoz in an interview with 'MMA Junkie'.
Used to watching Aldo's fights, Pedro declared that he did not expect that one day he would face his compatriot and praised the history and career of the former featherweight champion (up to 65,7kg).
“I've always watched your fights, your aggressive style is very similar to mine. Furthermore, he is a very popular person in Brazil so I am also very excited to fight against a legend, such a big name and a good fighter”, declared the Brazilian fighter.
Even with the recent retrospect of José Aldo Not being one of the best, Munhoz doesn't believe in an easy confrontation and praised the latest performances of Dedé Pederneiras' pupil.
“He still looks amazing. Your struggles against Petr yan, Marlon moraes and 'Chito' Vera were very good. I watched his last fights and his performance was great in all of them”, concluded Pedro.
Current number eight in the ranking of roosters (up to 61,2kg), Peter Munhoz seeks a new sequence of victories to get closer to the division's elite. After two consecutive defeats, the Brazilian rehabilitated himself by winning Jimmie rivera in the unanimous decision of the judges in February of this year. The fighter has a record of 19 triumphs and five setbacks.
