Dana White praises Jon Jones' new agent: 'He's a guy I respect'

The president declared that he liked the name of the former light heavyweight champion's new manager and stated that he hopes it will help 'Bones' return to the Octagon

After Jon Jones announces he will have a new agent taking care of his business, Dana White declared that he liked the name chosen by the North American fighter. The agent praised Richard Schaefer and stated that he hopes the change will make 'Bones' return to Ultimate fighting. The statement was given in an interview with 'Yahoo Sports'.

“I like Richard Schaefer. This is a guy I respect and have known for a long time. He’s a real guy, he’s a deal maker, so we’ll see what happens,” White stated.

The agent stated that he hopes that Jones will fight again soon but also stated that if he retires, he will have built a great career.

“This is the way I look at Jon Jones. If he shows up to fight it will be something incredible. If he doesn't show up, he's had a great career and could come out on top, which isn't a bad thing either,” concluded the agent.

PUBLICITY:

While negotiations for his next fight are not resolved, Jones continues preparing for his debut in the heavyweight division (up to 120,2kg). Previously tipped to face the champion Francis Ngannou, the former light heavyweight leader clashed with the organization, which ruled him out of the title fight.
