During the UFC 157 pre-event press conference, held in Anaheim (California) this Thursday (21), the subject of the recent mass dismissal of fighters soon appeared among the questions, specifically with regard to the exclusion of Jon Fitch, the most surprising name to appear on the list. The organization's president, Dana White, pointed to the high cost of the North American athlete as a justification.

“He’s f***ing expensive,” said White, defending the position of Ultimate’s management. The director also spoke of Fitch's future return to the organization's roster of fighters. “He’s going to end up somewhere, and he’s going to come back. This is the business in sports, and this is the way it happens,” he declared.

White also commented on what he imagines Jon Fitch's trajectory will be like from now on. “He will end up in Bellator or one of these other organizations and will win a title”, said the president. “A guy goes out there, wins a few fights, has some impressive appearances and then comes back,” he added.

North-American Jon Fitch is 34 years old and has been fighting MMA professionally since 2002. In his career, Fitch won 24 fights, lost five, drew one and had one unsuccessful fight. Jon's last two fights were against Brazilians: a victory over Erick silva at UFC Rio 3 and a loss to Demian Maia at UFC 156.
