After making history and winning the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg) in the UFC 260, Francis Ngannou He doesn't want to rest. After the collision carried out on Stipe Miocic, the French-Cameroonian admitted that he wants to be an active champion in the company. In a press conference after the show, the 'giant' spoke about his presence in the organization.

“I never asked (to fight) less. I always asked to stay active. I hope that with the belt I can be more active. I want to be able to have two or three fights a year. Let’s move on”, confirmed the champion.

In recent years, Ngannou has been vocal about the lack of title fights in the category. Between 2018 and 2020, only Francis and Daniel Cormier they acted as leaders, facing the then champion, Stipe Miocic.

The new 'king' of the heavyweight division, the French-Cameroonian has not performed since the triumph over Jairzinho Rozenstruik, in May 2020. On that occasion, the athlete knocked out the Surinamese and reached the fourth positive result in a row, which qualified him to face the then champion.

At 34 years old, this was the athlete's 16th triumph as a professional in MMA. The French-Cameroonian's last defeat came against Miocic, just over three years ago.
