Gustafsson confirms fight against Gegard Mousasi in Sweden

According to the MMAViking portal, the fighter made the announcement during open training at his new gym

The Swede Alexander Gustafson will be responsible for the “reception” of Gegard Mousasi in the UFC, as the fighter himself confided to the portal MMAViking. The fight is expected to take place at UFC on Fuel TV 9, on April 6, in Sweden. In an interview given this Saturday (19), during open training at his new gym in Stockholm, the light heavyweight spoke about the fight and even ventured a guess about the result. “This fight will not go to the judges’ decision,” he said.

Gegard Mousasi was recently hired by the UFC, after the closure of Strikeforce. The Armenian is a multiple champion, having won several titles in the events he has played at. Mousasi is a former Strikeforce light heavyweight, Dream middleweight and light heavyweight and Cage Warriors middleweight champion. In his last fight, he submitted Mike Kyle in the first round, in a fight held at the last Strikeforce event – ​​on January 12th.

Alexander Gustaffson, on the other hand, is one of the main names currently in the UFC light heavyweight category. “The Mauler”, as he is known, has only one defeat in his career, to the American Phil Davis in 2010. Since then, the 1,96 m Swede has won all six of his UFC fights. The last of them, by unanimous decision of the judges, on the Brazilian Mauritius Shogun.
