Todd-Duffee winsThe Brazilian junior gypsy and the North American Cain Velazquez They compete for the heavyweight belt in the main fight of UFC 155, but in the preliminary card of the show, which takes place this Saturday (29), it was another athlete in the category who shone. Todd Duffee, who was making his debut in the organization, showed all his knockout power by beating Englishman Philip De Fries in sensational fashion.

The North American started the fight with an electrifying pace, imposing his striking against his British opponent, who tried without much success to keep the fight on the ground. After a good combination of punches, Duffee hit De Fries and took his opponent to the canvas just over two minutes into the fight.

“I'm very happy to return to the UFC. I'm happy to be back and I won't disappoint,” said Duffee, who returned to the UFC after leaving the organization just over a year ago.

Varner beats Guillard
Since the weigh-in, held on Friday (28), the atmosphere between lightweights Jamie Varner and Melvin Guillard was hot. After almost getting ready a day in advance, the duel was highly anticipated by fans. However, despite being expected to have a lively fight from the first seconds, the fight started warmly.

PUBLICITY:

Guillard tried to impose his game with some punches and low kicks, while Varner chose to use the counterattack to hit his opponent. But from the second round onwards, with a disadvantage in striking, Jamie changed his strategy and began to take Melvin down, keeping his opponent on the ground and working with strikes from above.

History repeated itself in the next round and Jamie Varner won the fight in a split decision from the judges (29×28, 27×30, 29×28).
