the fight between Beneil Dariush and Charles Oliveira didn't happen in October, but the Iranian still wants to meet the Brazilian in the octagon. Rafael Cordeiro's pupil wants to grow at lightweight (70,3kg) and considers Charles the perfect name to continue his rise.

To the North American website MMA Junkie, Dariush believes that this is the fight that makes the most sense, he understood Charles' departure, but remembered that, as the contract has already been signed once, it can be signed for a second fight.

“I think it’s the fight that makes the most sense. We were supposed to fight in October, but something happened to him. I heard it was personal problems. I'm not sure what it was exactly, but I understand. I'm not blaming you for giving up the fight, but it makes more sense for us to face each other. Charles signed to fight me, I him, so why not do it? The only thing different is that there is no champion,” Dariush said.

Currently, Beneil Dariush is in 11th place in the lightweight rankings and has won five consecutive fights, four of which came via the fast track (two knockouts and two submissions). In turn, Charles Oliveira is number six in the category and has a streak of seven wins, all of which are via the fast track (five submissions and two knockouts)
