With eight Brazilians nominated, Rounda Rousey is the highlight of the “MMA Oscar”

Ronda (photo) had four nominations at the World MMA Awards

The English magazine Fighters Only Magazine released, this Monday (29), the nominees for the World MMA Awards, the “Oscar” of the sport, which rewards athletes, coaches and managers who stood out in the sport during the year.

The highlight of the nominations was the beautiful Ronda Rousey, which had four nominations in the categories of best fighter, revelation, best submission and best fighter, competing among men for the most important award of the night.

Brazil has eight nominations for the award – one less than in 2011 – and the highlights are the coaches, where among the five nominees, three are Brazilian. César Gracie, André Pederneiras and Rafael Cordeiro compete for the award against Americans Greg Jackson and Javier Mendez.

The other Brazilian nominations were from Renan Barao as revelation, Mauricio Shogun for the best fight in the duel against Dan HendersonEdson Barboza for the best knockout, Charles do Bronxs and Rousimar Toquinho for the best finish, in addition to Mário Yamazaki who competes as best referee.
