“So, Bellator fighters are not good, but a former champion, who I beat, was signed by the UFC and is the immediate reserve for a fight worth the belt? Interesting”, posted Patrício.

When attacked on social media, the Brazilian defended himself, stating that he and his brother, Patricky, are capable of standing out in the UFC and that there are great values in other MMA organizations.

"Some things never change. People don't understand the meaning of a tweet and say nonsense that they don't have the courage to say in front of me. Many people confuse me with my brother and try to get to me, attacking him and saying that we will never beat UFC athletes. The fighter has to follow the path that makes him happiest. He doesn't criticize anyone's choice. I'm just presenting another proof that there is value outside of the UFC, even though many disagree. If there are still people who don’t believe in this, I can design for them”, he concluded.

The rivalry between Patrício Freire and Michael chandler it has existed since 2016, when the North American knocked out Patricky in the first round. At the time, the younger brother swore to Chandler, promised to avenge the family and achieved it in 2019, by knocking him out in just one minute, in the fight that brought together two of the biggest names in Bellator history. Since then, Pitbull has remained the organization's double champion, as he holds the featherweight (65,8kg) and lightweight (70,3kg) belts.
