In a farewell tone, the athlete once again reaffirmed her importance within women's MMA. Bethe commented on her particular style, which earned her a shot at the organization's bantamweight belt (up to 61,2kg) in 2015.

“I have a strong and bold personality that marked my career and strengthened women's MMA with rivalries. My legacy remains as a fighter with boldness, posture, presentation and celebration in a unique way in the world of fighting. (…) Loved and hated, and, in the end, everyone wanted to watch my fights. I achieved a ppv (pay-per-view) record, which at the time, had never been achieved for years, I fought with better players and always generated news. I know I left my mark and now it’s time for the new generation”, explained the woman from Paraíba.

“Only a fighter knows when to stop and follow other paths… only a fighter and allies know the truths and lies of the media. Yes! This will be my last fight and it couldn't be at any other event, only and exclusively in the UFC.
Many untruths were told, but I was not shaken!! because I am well-rounded and I know my history, I have a strong and bold personality that marked my career and strengthened women's MMA with rivalries. My legacy remains as a fighter with boldness, posture, presentation and celebration in a unique way in the world of fighting. Personality that awakens curiosity in many. It's no wonder that #betheeffect, loved and hated, came about, and in the end everyone wanted to watch my fights. I achieved a PPV record that at the time, no one had reached for years, I fought with better people and always generated news. I know I left my mark and now it's time for the new generation to come... and I know I left good and bad lessons. My last fight will be in the best in the world, where I dreamed and sought to fight. In December I will be in the UFC octagon. And I will enjoy every moment and I know I will miss it! I am grateful to the UFC for recognizing my career and story, they have never denied me a request.”
