After the irritation of the controversial defeat against Dan Ige, in a fight that marked his debut at featherweight (up to 65,7kg.), Edson BarbozaNow you have reasons to celebrate. The athlete was included in the division's official ranking and is now in 15th position in the group led by Alexander Volkanovsky.

In the tough fight against Ige, Barboza surprised with a convincing performance, but ended up defeated in a split decision by the judges. After the confrontation, Barboza did not hide his frustration and even publicly asked for the amount corresponding to the victory purse.
Edson ended up not receiving assistance from the organization, but, almost four months later, he ended up being integrated into the category's elite.
The negative result didn't just serve to delay Barboza's path towards the top of the new category. Coming from welterweight (up to 77kg.), the Brazilian ended up reaching the mark of three consecutive defeats, in addition to five setbacks in the last six appearances.
Now, in the top 15, Edson will have another opportunity to recover in the UFC. The Friborg native has an appointment scheduled for October 10th and will face the dangerous Sodiq Yusuf, who is undefeated in four Ultimate matches. The North American is currently number 11 in the group.
