Johnny Walker wishes Jon Jones luck in heavyweight: 'We depend on his success'

Brazilian reveals support for former champion in the top division and confirms desire to also play in the under-120kg division. in the future

The change of division of Jon Jones for the heavyweights (up to 120,2kg) of the UFC it is already a reality. With no date for the debut, MMA fans are now eagerly awaiting to know how the former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) will perform in the category. However, depending on Johnny Walker, there will be no shortage of fans for the North American.

Walker, who has a fight scheduled against Ryan spann for September 19th, confirmed that he intends to follow in Jones' footsteps in the future. However, the fighter needs to recover from two consecutive setbacks suffered in his last appearances.

“I also want to move to heavyweight in the future. I hope Jones doesn't retire, because one of the fights I want most in my life is against him. But I can't think about that now. I have to think about my career, win again and, slowly, regain the place I was conquering”, said the combatant.

Currently in 11th place in the light heavyweight rankings, Johnny has not performed since his defeat to Nikita Krylov suffered in March this year. Walker's opponent in the fight on September 26, Spann has four appearances for the UFC and has not been defeated wearing the organization's gloves.
