“There were two technical errors: I lost control on the ground, I failed to try to get up in the first round; and be a little more aggressive with ground and pound, not just try for the submission,” he admitted. “But just because the defeat happened doesn’t mean I have to change everything. I just have to adjust a few things, as many are being done correctly. I'm not happy, I felt the defeat a lot, but nothing that will stop me. I’m going to go back to training, recover what I need to recover, adjust what I need to adjust and return at the end of the year, November or December.”
In addition to the aforementioned errors, Herbert Burns He also remembered the short time he had to prepare for the fight, some injuries that had an influence and also the exhaustion he had to try to reach the division's weight limit, which ended up not happening.
“I came from a very strong sequence of training, several camps in a row and I took the fight at the last minute, two weeks away, so I had little time to prepare, in addition to some small injuries that prevented me from training 100%. Even so, I believed in my victory at all times. I couldn't make the weight and that had a huge impact on my performance, because I gave my life to lose the weight, and that had an impact on my physical performance”, he explained.
