“I want the Nate diaz. He is one position below me. He is 12, I am 11 in the rankings. It makes sense to me, I deserve it. I'm ending the fights, just fighting. O Nate diaz He's a guy who wants a big fight, fight of the night, main fight”, said the welterweight (under 77kg) in an interview with 'Combate'.

Luque then justified the reasons that make him think that a confrontation against Diaz could represent something big for both the athletes and the organization. Showing respect for the North American, Vicente then revealed the idea.

“I'm a guy who fights for my style. A fight between us will definitely be the fight of the night. It has a lot of potential for this. He's aggressive, he comes at you. He takes beatings and isn't afraid, just like me. I'm trying not to take so many hits, but if I do, I'll give it back with two or three. I look for the knockout or submission all the time. It would be a great fight against Nate diaz”, Finished.

Nate hasn't acted since November last year, when he faced Jorge masvidal and competed for a symbolic title created by the organization exclusively for combatants. At the UFC 244, Diaz ended up defeated by 'Jesus das Ruas', and, since then, he has only been trying to return to the Octagon.
