Anderson Silva says he would like to compete in the Rio Olympics in 2016

Anderson Silva is looking for new challenges. At 37 years old and UFC champion for five years, the Brazilian says he does not rule out changing sports and is even considering the interest of representing Brazil at the 2016 Olympic Games, in Rio de Janeiro.

“It would be another challenge in my career, and I would really like it. Participating in a competition like this is something that I really lack, being an Olympic athlete. I don’t know if I would be able to adapt, the medal would be like the belt, a consequence, but it would be great”, said Anderson, in an interview with Sportv, during the launch of the second edition of his biography. Spider says he could represent the country in Tae-Kwon-Do or boxing.

“I trained boxing for a long time and I even trained with some people who were Olympic athletes. I am also a black belt in tae-kwon-do and I would fit well into this discipline, but I don't know if I would have the capacity to compete in an Olympics within TKD, but it is a challenge that I would like to face”, added the champion of the UFC.
