May the superfight between Jon Jones e Francis Ngannou It's unlikely to happen in the near future, many already know. However, UFC president, Dana White, explained that one of the reasons for not promoting the fight would be the amount requested by the light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg) to face the 'giant' in his next commitment. Upon learning of the 'boss' speech, 'Bones' didn't let it go and questioned the agent.

“Look, it’s one thing to show up and say you want a little more money. The amount of money the Jon Jones I wanted (it was absurd). Then, Jon Jones will fight with Francis Ngannou and try to get a chance at the heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg.)? I do not believe this. He never wanted to move to heavyweight before. For the amount of money he's asking for, that's not going to happen. You couldn't ask for such an absurd amount of money at a worse time,” said Dana, in an interview with 'ESPN'.
The organization's president also stated that the time for Jon to ask for a confrontation is not appropriate. White believes that 'Bones' still has issues in his current category, as he comes from two disputed results – by a portion of the fans and specialized press – and there are good opponents at the front of the group.
“He has some guys in the light heavyweight ranks, whether the Jan Blachowicz ou Dominick reyes”, said the 'boss'.
Upon learning of the UFC president's speech, it didn't take long for 'Bones' to publicly speak out about his boss's statement. On his Twitter account, the American criticized the president, suggesting that White lied in his interview.
“It's interesting to be sitting here watching your boss lie to the camera like that. We never talked about a pay increase. Immediately the conversation was that I already earned enough. I never asked for a price”, wrote the champion.

Finally, Jon, who hasn't fought since his last title defense, in February this year, asked that, in future statements, Dana be honest so that there is no confusion of information.
“If you’re not going to change my contract so I can move up to heavyweight, at least have the decency to be honest with the fans,” he concluded.
