Closed a few hours ago, the UFC 247 presented MMA fans with a true spectacle in the main fight of the night, when Jon Jones e Dominick reyes they faced each other for the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.). Even with a result disputed by some, which kept 'Bones' as champion of the division, the company's president, Dana White, made a point of congratulating the athletes for the spectacle promoted this weekend. The statement was made at a press conference after the event.

“I've heard that Jon won, or there was a draw, or that Reyes was victorious. It all depends on how you judge. We are not judges. It doesn't matter. What matters is that these two fighters are tough. The blows they took to the body, the legs, the head. It was a phenomenal fight between two phenomenal athletes,” said White.

In the same interview, Dana did not want to guarantee whether Dominick will receive an immediate rematch, given the high level of competitiveness imposed by the challenger. However, the 'boss' did not hide his admiration for the athlete, who gave Jones one of the biggest challenges of his career.

The setback suffered by 'Bones' marked, in addition to the loss of the chance to become champion, Dominick's first defeat in his professional MMA career. The fighter remained undefeated for 12 appearances.

Jones, in turn, continues his successful career path and consolidates himself as one of the biggest names in MMA history. This Saturday, the North American reached the mark of 14 victories in title fights. Jon's feat had never been accomplished by any other fighter.

Jon Jones won, but not unanimously

  2. I also think that Jones won...but the fair would be 3 to 2 for the champion...and not unanimously

  3. The muppet thought he beat Jones, so how could he not see Reyes win? In my opinion, Reyes did much more than he did. Personally, I couldn't see the champion winning and unfortunately the records are hidden judges who influence too much in well-fought fights.

  4. Shame, another fight with the participation of the judges in favor of Jones, 1st Gustafsson (1st fight), 2nd Marreta 3rd Reyes, the same fans, who at the beginning, inside the stadium, were rooting for Jones at the end booed the result, because up close they saw what everyone saw on TV, they are not able to fool anyone anymore
