The historic rivalry between Wanderlei Silva e Vitor belfort added another chapter this Monday (28). After the Rio fighter announced his UFC 147 exit, due to a broken hand, when he was due to face Wand in the main fight of the event, the “Mad Dog” used Twitter to provoke his rival, who had said he was interested in fighting with just one hand.

“With one hand (laughs)? You are a braggart! We are professionals. It is highly irresponsible not to be careful in training. A great disrespect towards the fans”, published Wand on his microblog account. “I was very sad about all of this. I'm ready to knock him out, but there's nowhere to run, this fight will have to happen. You can run, hide”, Wand provoked. The former Pride champion still questioned his opponent's injury.

“The best equipment, gloves, gel, bandages. I think it turned yellow. No one trains that hard to punch that hard. If he was scared, he wouldn't have accepted the fight. The fans are the main ones who suffer from this. If it really broke, it’s very amateurish, if it didn’t break, it broke,” he said.

In turn, Belfort did not let it go and also used Twitter to respond to his rival. To the “Phenomenon”, as he is known, he returned the provocation citing Wanderlei’s fear of the rematch.
“A person’s emotional imbalance reveals their fears. I appreciate the love from everyone and my sponsors,” she wrote. “Confidence is not arrogance. I remain confident and maintain my respect for my opponent, as now my fight is against my injury”, added Belfort.
