the dreaded Francis Ngannou is ready to try to win the UFC heavyweight belt (up to 120,2kg) for the first time. After hitting Junior Gypsy With a devastating knockout in less than two minutes of combat, in July, the athlete has asked Ultimate for a new chance to compete for the world title in his category. The French-Cameroonian stated that he would like to face Stipe Miocic later this year and confirmed that the repeat of the fight that took place in January of last year would end differently. The statement was made in a recent interview with 'MMA Junkie'.

“I've been waiting for this (a new title fight). After my last appointment, Dana White (UFC president) said he would watch the fight between 'DC' (Daniel Cormier) and Stipe (Miocic). I'm waiting. I’m ready,” said Francis.

If Ultimate gives Ngannou another chance, the duel against Miocic, who beat Cormier in the main fight of UFC 241, in August, and regained the title he lost in July last year, would be worth more than the belt. The clash would mark the possibility of erasing the Franco-Cameroonian defeat suffered by Stipe last year. The loss to the American marked Francis' third setback in 17 fights since he debuted in MMA.

“I think I'm going to get my rematch and it definitely won't be like last time. I hope it can happen in 2019. It would be incredible”, concluded the fighter.

Since making his UFC debut in 2016, Ngannou has haunted the division due to his great physical strength and ability to deliver devastating knockouts to his opponents. With eight victories for the company, only on one occasion did the triumph not come with the referee interrupting; The incident happened in December 2016 (year of his debut), when the French-Cameroonian defeated Anthony Hamilton by submission in the first round.

After beating Cormier, Stipe, in a press conference, stated that he would face any opponent that the Ultimate management imposed, but, before that, he asked for a period of rest to recover from the battle he fought against Daniel.
