For the duel, Durinho will have less than 14 days to prepare and face Nelson, who is coming off a defeat to Leon edwards. The Brazilian recently moved up to welterweight (up to 77kg.). According to the fighter, the weight cut among the lightweights (up to 70,3kg) was harming his performance and, according to the athlete himself, acting among the heaviest fighters could give him a better performance.

Durinho is trying for another victory to, little by little, continue his climb towards the top of the new category, which today is reigned by Kamaru Usman. The 33-year-old Niteroi native has 16 wins and just three defeats in his career.
