As far as Khabib's father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov is concerned, his son won't be seen wearing the gloves of the UFC or any other organization for a long time. According to Abdulmanap, who is also one of the Russian's coaches, 30 fights are enough to guarantee the 'Eagle' a worthy legacy. The coach made the statement in a recent interview with the Russian channel 'TASS'.

After hitting Dustin poirier last Saturday (7), in a duel valid for the unification of the lightweight title (up to 70,3kg.), Khabib completed his 28th career fight which, based on his father's statement, would only give him two more professional fights in his life of the athlete in mixed martial arts.

Abdulmanap, who has taken care of his son's career since he was a child, even stated the place where he would like Khabib to perform his last performance.

“Taking into consideration his last performance, of course I wanted him to make his last belt defense in Moscow (Russia).”

The current lightweight champion began his career in 2008, when he beat Vusal Bayramov via submission in the first round, in a duel held in Ukraine. Almost 11 years later, the fighter has already held 27 duels, winning at every opportunity.

His UFC debut took place in January 2012. On that occasion, Nurmagomedov managed a submission against Kamal Shalorus, in the third round. Since then, there have been 11 presentations. Khabib's belt was won in April 2018, when the fighter, in a dispute with To the fifth, became champion of the title that was vacant.

The 'Eagle' still doesn't have his new appointment scheduled. After his victory over Poirier, the Russian stated that he intends to rest, but has already signaled that he intends to give Tony Ferguson the chance to fight for the belt. Apparently, the fight will take place next year.

There is also the possibility that the UFC will fulfill one of Khabib's wishes, which is to face former two-division champion Georges St-Pierre in a lightweight fight. The athletes have already signaled their desire to hold the fight and, now, it is up to the Ultimate board to carry out the negotiations.
