The athlete, in addition to beating the former champion Daniel Cormier, regained his belt, lost a year ago and, as a bonus, put an end to his rival's almost five-year unbeaten run. The fighter was asked about how he viewed the various speculations in the press and behind the scenes in MMA about a third fight. Daniel Cormier e Jon Jones, if DC were to win the fight. The assumptions were made without, in many cases, even considering the possibility that Miocic could, in fact, regain his belt in his long-awaited rematch.

For many, Daniel's victory was just a matter of time and a new confrontation between him and 'Bones' could be triggered by the company, since Cormier and Jones had already declared through social networks and interviews their desire to repeat the fights in the heavyweight category (up to 120,2kg).

In the interview, Stipe avoided talking about his new commitment, now, as champion. The athlete responded to the questions by simply saying that he would like to rest and enjoy leisure time. However, when a question was asked involving Jon Jones, the athlete stated that he does not choose challengers.

“I've always said that I'll fight anyone,” said Miocic, without delving into the subject further.
The triumph over Cormier marked the 19th victory for the American, who is now 36 years old. The athlete had not performed since he lost the belt to Cormier himself, in July last year.
