After retiring from MMA in 2011, Ricardo Cachorrão never hid his desire to help in the development of the sport and, mainly, in improving the judgment of the side judges.

And after some time studying it seems that the former athlete took the first step towards his goal. Cachorrão, who is still the coach of several UFC athletes, such as the former champion Frankie Edgar, joined the New Jersey Athletic Commission and will make his debut as a judge early next month.

The jiu-jitsu black belt will be one of the judges at UFC on Fox 3, an event that takes place on May 5th, in East Rutherford, in the United States.

Cachorrão could be one of the judges of fights like Nate diaz against Jim Miller, or the dispute between the Brazilian Rousimar Toquinho against the North American Alan belcher.
