After almost three months of medical suspension, the average weight (up to 83,9kg.) Kelvin Gastelum was cleared to return to training. The removal occurred after the intense duel against Israel adesanya, held in April this year, by UFC 236 in which the fighters fought an intense and bloody clash for five rounds. The athlete revealed his return on his official Instagram account and also challenged Jack hermansson for its relaunch.

“I'm very excited. The doctor just gave me the good news, cleared me to fight and started training. After the battle I had with Adesanya, I realized I needed some time away, but I knew I would return brand new,” wrote Kelvin, who also suggested a possible month for his return. “11 weeks have passed and I am looking for a date for my return. My eyes are on November. I want to thank everyone for the support. Let’s continue the mission for gold”, published Gastelum.

The duel against Israel is certainly seen as one of the best of the year so far. On that occasion, the two athletes fought in order to define who would be the holder of the interim title of the category, and who, in the future, would unify the belt against the holder of the linear title, Robert whittaker.

Defeated, it was up to Gastelum to absorb the setback during his period of absence and think about his new directions within the category. Currently in fourth place in the category rankings, Kelvin seems to have defined his next opponent. Jack is an athlete who gained great notoriety within the organization after beating the experienced Brazilian Ronaldo Jacare, who was tipped to fight for the belt. Hermansson, however, defeated the Espírito Santo and jumped in the rankings, earning the right to face elite athletes.

Ultimate has not yet commented on a confirmation of the fight.
