On Monday it was announced that Mirko Cro Cop was withdrawn from the fight against Roy Nelson due to a knee injury. The organization was officially looking for a new opponent for Nelson to continue on the main card of the event. In an interview with the website MMAjunkie, Bellator president Scott Coke stated that Nelson was officially removed from the Bellator 200 card this Friday (25).
Nelson and Cro Cop were fighting for the first alternative position in the Bellator heavyweight GP. Coker said the American will be financially compensated for the lost fight, although an amount was not disclosed. The president also said that Nelson will fight as soon as possible, perhaps at a future event.
Nelson took to Twitter to talk about the fight.
