Considered one of the biggest UFC stars today, Conor McGregor is attracting attention even outside the world of MMA. Real Madrid, a giant Spanish club, would be interested in holding a fight for the Irishman at their stadium, the Santiago Bernabéu, located in the Spanish capital.
The information comes from the Irish radio “Newstalk”. According to the outlet, a Real Madrid spokesperson stated that the team would be happy to host a UFC event with McGregor on the card, which could attract 80 fans. In fact, there is already speculation about the possible date, which would be between May and July 2017. The Spanish newspapers “AS” and “Marca” also recently reported Real's interest in a McGregor fight.
McGregor is friends with Cristiano Ronaldo, considered the Spanish club's main player. The UFC has never held an event in Spain before. McGregor returns to the octagon on November 12th, in New York (USA), when he faces Eddie Alvarez. If he wins, the Irishman will make history by becoming the first simultaneous champion of two different categories.
